changing dir/chmod

Hello
Using WinSCP I try and change into a directory /home/here but I get the error : "Connection has been unexpectedly closed. Server sent command exit status 1." now, i understand permissions and whatever, but the dir is CHMOD to 765. is there anyway i can read inside of this directory using my CHMOD 765, as it appears i cannot change this. Thanks for your help!

Re: changing dir/chmod

Please post a log file. If you are using SCP, try to specify /bin/bash shell on SCP tab of login dialog. Or try SFTP instead.
