Feature Request: Registry Entries

I would like to be able to use WinSCP by having it on a floppy disk. That way, I could use a public/private key to access a server, and not bother with the password. I really don't like the idea of leaving a key on my computer at work, so the idea of running WinSCP from a floppy seems the best logical choice.

I have successfully configured PuTTY to run from a floppy disk, using the method decrribed in the PuTTY website.

Is there any chance that future versions of WinSCP could store their registry data in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Martin Prikryl\WinSCP 2 instead of the current location?

Thanks,

Matt

Huh? WinSCP stores data to this key.

Suggestions for you:
  1. Use same method as for Putty, just replace "SimonTatham\PuTTY" with "Martin Prikryl\WinSCP 2".
  2. WinSCP 2.0 #101 and newer can save configuration to INI file instead of registry. By default INI file is saved to directory, where WinSCP executable is. You may change path using /INI=<path> switch.
