Permissions not preserved under Linux!

Hi,

I use the portable version 5.5.5 build 4605, at office.

Under Linux (via SFTP), when I create or modify a file with the editor, and I save the file, WinSCP systematically assigns the permission of the file to 0644! (even if I have set the permission to 0754! in all places in the transfert settings).

Is there a way to preserve the original permission of the file, very boring to manually change the file permission at each time.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards.

Re: Permissions not preserved under Linux!

Please attach a full log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.

Re: Permissions not preserved under Linux!

Hello,

In attached file you will find the log you request (the file edited is "test.sh", with original rights = 0777).

I had a look inside, and I think I found the reason of the issue.

Because I have choosen to make a Recycle bin on the server with the option "Preserve overwritten remote files to Recycle bin", WinSCP moves the original file to the Recycle bin (OK) then send the modified file on the server ,without keep the same rights as the original! (KO). I made a try without the option "Preserve overwritten..." and the rights are kept.

IMO, this is a bug, or if not, you should to improve the software on that point.

Best regards.
