prefer small file transfer / prefer uploads

Hi,
I love WinSCP, the only request I would have is to add a method to prefer files with a size smaller than certain file size. Often I have a long download queue from a cluster, and from time to time I just want to upload a few very short files. Like 2 TB download in 200 files, and three short textfiles to upload. I then have to manually click "execute now" on each of these files, which is kind of annoying. It would be great if files of a certain size would automatically be put on top of the queue. Alternatively, for me it would also work if files which are to be uploaded would be preferred and would be transferred immediately. For the latter, maybe a simple checkbox would suffice?

Thanks
BH

Re: prefer small file transfer / prefer uploads

I want this sort of feature myself, but envision it as a "Priority" setting on each transfer.

The Priority value would initially be set from a new field in the Transfer Settings Preset, and could be subsequently altered from the Queue Item's context menu or the Commands::Queue menu (in much the same way that the Speed can be changed).

The Size and Date "File mask" features of the Transfer Settings could be used to automatically raise the priority of small files (which should help reduce the amount of new code needed).

To accommodate BH's request to "prefer uploads" you could augment the Queue panel context menu with new sub-menus "Uploads" and "Downloads" (with the same content as the All sub-menu), and have those actions affect only the corresponding types of Transfers. And if you're going that far, it would be good to have both "Upload Priority" and "Download Priority" values in the Transfer Settings Presets.

Agreed

This feature would be great. I would honestly just love a single, simple option for "prioritize uploads," which would immediately put uploads at the top of the queue when downloading other files in the background.

Isn't that what Execute Now command does?
