FTP Via Proxy - Stuck at "0% Uploading"

Hi,

I am currently trying to transfer a number of files via a HTTP Proxy. I am able to connect and view the directory listing, however when copying a file accross, it hangs on "0% Uploading", and then eventually times out. I am getting the same issue on multiple machines. If you then cancel the upload while it is stuck, it creates a 0 byte file on the remote server.

Filezilla is working fine with the same settings on the same machines.

WinSCP Version : 5.7.5 (Build 5665)
Windows Versions : Windows Server 2012 R2, and also Windows 7
Transfer Protocol : FTP (Using Explicit Encryption)
GUI/Command Prompt : This is occurring via Commander GUI, and command prompt.
Error Message : No Error. Stuck @ 0%, then eventually connection times out.

Steps to Reproduce :

1) Open WINSCP
2) Click "Login" on the saved connection with Proxy
3) Enter the FTP servers password
4) Navigate to the remote directory you want to copy files to
5) Drag a file from the left hand pane, to the remote servers pane.
6) Note that the server hangs on 0%.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: FTP Via Proxy - Stuck at "0% Uploading"

Please attach a full log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.

FileZilla log (not a message log) would help too for a comparison.

Re: FTP Via Proxy - Stuck at "0% Uploading"

Hi,

Filezilla and WinSCP logs attached. I had a quick scan and the main difference I Can see is that the winscp log has the following error :

FtpControlSocket.cpp(6598): Error retrieving server address, cannot test if address is routable

Where as the Filezilla log doesn't

Thanks.

Re: FTP Via Proxy - Stuck at "0% Uploading"

Try to run WinSCP once like:

winscp.com /batchsettings <your_site_name> FtpTransferActiveImmediately=1

And then repeat the test and post a log file again.

WinSCP File

Hi Prikryl,

Please find the log file below, after running the command above and repeating the test.

Cheers.

Re: WinSCP File

Thanks for your report.
I have sent you an email with a debug version of WinSCP to address you have used to register on this forum.

Hi, Sorry for the delay on this.

I have tried the debug version, and this version does actually transfer the file! However it is incredibly slow.

Just looking at the recent threads, I believe this may be the same issue that another user has recently had (https://winscp.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22377), and I understand that this is to be fixed in version 5.8.1 of WinSCP. (Bug 1381) which is not yet in beta.

Do you happen to have a copy of 5.8.1 available to see whether this has resolved this issue? Let me know if you still need the debug files.

Thanks.
