sudo su issue

I'm trying to transfer files from my computer using WinSCP 5.7.6 SFTP to a SUSE Linux box. I have an initial user name and password that I use, but then have to do a sudo su. I tried copying the files and got access denied (error code 3). So I read the tutorial at https://winscp.net/eng/docs/faq_su and went into the Advanced Settings > Environment > SFTP. I've changed the SFTP server to sudo /usr/lib64/ssh/sftp-server and have also tried sudo su -c /usr/lib64/ssh/sftp-server. I saved these settings. When I click login, it searches and connects to the host then prompts me for my password, but after I enter the password it goes back to the main screen where I clicked login to begin with. I'm sure that I'm doing something wrong, but I can't figure it out.

Re: sudo su issue

Please attach a full log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.
