Bookmarks not remembered.

Hello,

I've been using WinSCP and bookmarks for several years.

Recently when I add some bookmarks they disappear when I log in later.

This problem started recently after upgrade. This is how I upgraded:
  1. Renamed WinSCP folder to WinSCP-old
  2. Downloaded winscp576.zip
  3. Unzipped to c:/program files/WinSCP
  4. Copy-pasted WinSCP.ini from WinSCP-old
I did this as admin user.

At first I suspected that the program doesn't save bookmarks in WinSCP.ini because of a permission issue, but when I create a New Site it does remember it.

Any idea what's going on?

Re: Bookmarks not remembered.

Thanks for your report.
I have sent you an email with a debug version of WinSCP to the address you have used to register on this forum.

Still not saving -- Version 5.17.10 (Build 11087)

It seems WinSCP needs to be launched as administrator to remember bookmarks.
I do not think so. Rather you have to close WinSCP and restart.

Changes should be saved immediately and not at shutdown.
At least provide for a save button, but that seems to be rather foolish.

Well, I tried to but off the bat can't reproduce it. I know I experienced it more than once, that's why I posted it. I assumed that other tabs would not know about adding, but that is not true. I'll keep watching. Thank you.

Version 5.21.5 Saves bookmarks only when the application is closed (normally)

If bookmarks are deleted or added but then the application is closed normally (as opposed to being forced to close for a restart or as a result of some kind of system crash) then the changes get saved. Otherwise, they do not, and the old deleted bookmarks reappear instead. So, it looks like bookmarks get saved only at the (normal) termination of a session.

However, overall, I should comment that this is the most intuitive and easy-to-use FTP client I have ever used (PC or Mac).
