More synchronize options

More synchronize options

1. Add an option to select whether or not subfolders are included when doing a synchronize.

2. Add a way to exclude specific subfolders when doing a synchronize. Maybe exclusion file patterns could be specified, so any file or folder matching an exclusion pattern would be excluded.

3. Make the "modification time" and "file size" compare options, the "existing files only" option, and all other synchronization options available from console scripting mode as well as from the GUI. If it can be done from the GUI, it should also be doable from scripting language, and vice-versa, and furthermore, the scripting "help" command and online documentation should say HOW.

Re: More synchronize options

Another request:

4. The <local directory> argument for synchronize should be allowed to be just a single file rather than entire folder, because you might want to synchronize just one file.

Hm. Noone has asked for this before :-) Technically, you can exclude subfolder using exlude mask. However this may not be quite comfortable.

Sure, you can use exclude mask. The next version will also allow you to synchronize only selected files/folders.

Sure. But considering that there are so many options in GUI, I cannot transfer them to scripting all at once. So now, once you asked, I can consider that :-)

You can use include mask. Also as I've already wrote, the next version will allow you to synchronize selected files only. Also, why local directory only? Why not also remote?

I was just looking for this option - it would save me a lot of work.

Basically I'd like to synchronize only files in the specified folder and to ignore all subfolders. I can't use masks for this because I don't know what subfolders will exist.

Thanx in advance,
Gerald

Re: More synchronize options

Has there been any progress on point 3 or is it something I can track on the bug / feature tracker.

I want to be able to remote -> local synchronize but delete only, i.e. dont copy new files just delete them
Then do local -> remote synchronize files.

I have files in the remote that I dont want to copy back to local but do want to delete files in local that have been removed from remote, then copy any new files in local to remote

Thanks
