Topic "Error code"

I just installed WinSCP on a new laptopn and cannot get it to
work.

The software makes the connection to the remote UNIX host correctly and also lists directories correctly on both my laptop and the remote host. Changing directories is fine.

But when an attempt to copy files is made the following error code appears:

[folder name]"File or folder does not exist. System Error. Code 3. The system cannot find the path specified."

If trying to send a single file, a similar message appears except with Code 2.

I note one very strange thing: when WinSCP reports the name of the folder it cannot find, it omits the first letter. So, if it is supposed to copy from folder "Jonathan" it indicates that it cannot find "onathan." When trying to copy from folder "upload"
it reports it cannot find "pload."

I am running Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop -- one other issue,
just wondering if it is necessary to set some sort of permissions on the laptop to copy files under Windows 7.

I'd much appreciate some help on resolving this issue. Many thanks.

What version of WinSCP are you using? Make sure you are using the latest one.

If you are already, can you send me an email, so I can send you back a debug version of WinSCP to track the problem? Please include link back to this topic in your email. Also note in this topic that you have sent the email. Thanks.

Here is some further interesting information: I have been able to get around the problem by selecting the files manually. The problem happens only when using the mouse to select: ie. If I select and pull a file from one directory to the other it says it could not find the file and shows the file name without the first character.

I am using the latest version... Not quite sure how to email you as I don't seem to have my own logon here. Many thanks!

I'm sorry, but that is "latest version". Can you be more specific?

To login, you need to register.
