I was connected to a FTP server through SFTP when I put my pc into stand-by and have now returned to the program.
Instead of reconnecting I wanted to close WinSCP and it threw the error below.
I was not able to close the program normally. I had to close the task through the Task Manager.

Put computer in sleep on an open connection.
Resume computer, WinSCP will ask for password.
Click cancel, and you will get dozens of invalid access to memory errors.
You need to force the program to stop as the errors seem endless.

had connected to ESXi 6.7 machine, when i rebooted the host. WinSCP crashed with the below error

Left WinSCP connected whilst I slept my machine, which later hibernated itself.

Bit of an edge condition, required killing via task manager.
