I'm a relative newbie at networking so bare with me. However I think I have a pretty interesting problem.

I'm trying to access two hard drives on a surveillance system (Powerplex EDR1600 from Everfocus, My goal is to be able to retrieve .mov files from the drives for backup purposes. There is a built-in backup feature but it is very slow and complex.

The system is "Linux-based" but at a glance it seems like any other linux system i have encountered (though my experience is limited in that arena). It has a web feature, (which I've been unsuccessful in activating) and uses ports 80, 1111 and 1600.

I've tried searching for a similar problem but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Sorry, I'm not sure what is your problem. Do you ask how to retrieve the .mov files? Does your server have SSH enabled? If it does, just try to login using WinSCP.
