Publishing WinSCP to Microsoft Store

Would you be able to publishing WinSCP to Microsoft Store? So users can install it by opening Microsoft Store via Windows menu in Windows 10, etc.? The main benefit that I like to see is that Microsoft Store does automated app updates without user intervention, as a background process. In that way, we don't have to worry about out of date binaries and spend cycles to download and install updates.

Thanks

I see many software has been published to Windows Store using bridging service. Looking forward to see it happen for WinSCP!!

Will this Windows Store version still retain the classic UI or will it have a UWP style interface?
There's no change in the application itself, it's all about deployment only.

Thanks for working on Microsoft Store version

The manual updating process for non-Store apps is painful (not that your process is bad, it's just that it's manual and always pops up when I don't want the distraction). For that reason alone, I can't wait for a Store version that lets the Store keep it updated. Please hurry.

Nice to see WinSCP on Windows Store even the price 9.99$ is great, but I don't know why the price in the Czech Republic is 289 CZK. Is it possible to get Windows Store version if I can send you money directly without using PayPal and Bitcoin to avoid any fees so you would get more money from me?

Maybe you'd get from somebody the similar question. Would be great to mention it in the documentation that donation button doesn't include Windows Store version.

Otherwise, if it's not possible remove my post. Thanks.

Thanks for your offer. But manual processing of payments would overwhelm us. Please use Microsoft Store.

I'm so very pleased that you have this option now!
I donated once a looooong time ago and have enjoyed all the improvements you've made. Purchasing lets me catch up!

Just installed and seems to work perfectly, just like the old non-Store version

Thank you, thank you!!

I launched WinSCP and got one of those annoying "Upgrade available messages." I had a minute to spare, so I logged in here to ask for a Microsoft Store version, and then saw I had asked the same question months ago, and that the Store version is now available. :-)

I immediately bought and tried it out. I was concerned that with the Store version, maybe I'd lose access to the shared logins with PuTTY, but nope, they still worked too. Really impressed.

If anyone is on Windows 10, you should support the developer and buy the version in the Microsoft Store (just search for WinSCP). It's worth $9.99 just to avoid those annoying upgrade messages, but it also helps the developer who built this great tool.

32 vs 64 bit with windows store app

I don't know why these keep posting as 'guest'. One more try as a logged in member so I actually get email confirmation of any responses.....

The system requirements for the windows store app indicate x86 systems are required. Will the program not work on a 64 bit operating system?

Yes it will. x86 does not mean 32-bit. It broadly means IBM PC-compatible.
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86
So the requirement basically means that you cannot use WinSCP e.g. on Surface tablets or Xbox, which are not IBM PC compatible although they do have Microsoft Store.

Compatibility for Surface tablet

Is it only the Microsoft store download that is incompatible with a Surface tablet? Or is the winscp.net download incompatible, as well?
