Upload to FTP then delete local file?

Apologies if this is a painfully simple task, but I'm not sure how to go about it, and rather than spend a lot of time playing and testing I thought I'd ask here first!

I want to upload files to my client's FTP and then automatically delete said files locally upon successful upload to the FTP.

What's the best way to do this?

In WinSCP scripting, you can use put -delete c:\local\path\* /remote/path/
