Server not found - millenium box

We connect to a scp server and have been doing so for 1 year+, no problems.
One of the clients is a Millenium machine (ugh) and it recently developed a problem. It seems that it cant find the host.

The other client is an XP box and it continues to work.
I have verified all the settings are the same between the two boxes.

I am told nothing significant has been changed on the Millenium box.

I can not ping from either box.
I can ping google.com from both boxes.
I can open a telnet session (port 22) to the server from the XP box, not from the Milennium box.
The server is up, we can get/put files from XP box.

I do not beleive there is a firewall on this machine. I can not find one. Any ideas?
