changing owner & group

In the support 'protocol comparison chart' it says that owner or group change can be done using SFTP. I'm using 4.1, but when i try to change owner/group it's grayed out.

If i change to SCP, then i am able to change owner/group. But i would prefer to use SFTP. How can i get change to work using SFTP?
