Program falls when many files in folder

Program falls when many files in folder. For example if I want open, on server, old folder of some http site, where users add images. If images is too much, program is broken.
Forexample last time I try open folder where was 40 000 images and more then 1Gb. And it's impossible.

My computer Pentium 4 CPU 3.2Hz, 1Gb RAM

P.S.
And about your "report bug" system. If I push "Preview", the "Confirmation code" erased. So if I push Submit after that, I must enter confirmation code one more time.

Re: Program falls when many files in folder

Can you send me an email, so I can send you back a debug version of WinSCP to track the problem? Please include link back to this topic in your email. Also note in this topic that you have sent the email. Thanks.

You will find my address (if you log in) in my forum profile.

Transfer does not start because of timeout reading target

My transfer also fails (timeout) when there are a large number of files in the target folder.

I want to upload some images to a folder that has a lot (>40000) images in it already.

I believe the problem occurs because WINSCP first attempts to download a listing of the target folder. Can this be disabled with options?

Thanks for your help - I hope we can fix this as I am not happy with the MS FTP and I need good command line functionality.

Joe

No.
Have you tried setting longer timeout?

Not yet but I will.

I would respectfully suggest that the automatic download of the target directory listing should be optional and only required if some comparison with the target directory is required by a command (e.g. synchronisation).

Thanks for your response.
