upload transfer speed

I am uploading a large (200mb) file to my dedicated server and I notice the dialog box shows bytes transferred as CPS: 13,049 B/s
What does CPS stand for?
I presume B/s stands for bytes per second, or in this case, approx 13kbps. Is this right?

Re: upload transfer speed

CPS = characters per second = bytes per second. While kbps = kilobites per second.
Character = byte = 8 bites.
1024 CPS = 8192 bps = 8 kbps.
In fact difference bite vs. byte is why I use character, which I hope is clear :-)
