Copy files with inherited permissions?

Hi all,

How can an retain the file and folder permissions when uploading new files to the server? Right now, when I upload files to server I get myself as Owner and Users as group?
But how can I make it to inherite servers permissions?
Or do I have to change the permissions later on via SSH?
But when I replace allready existing files, the permission is correct.

Please if someone knows let me know and thanks for a wonderful product!

Where the permissions should be inherited from?

Permission..

Well I thought it was possible to inherite the remote servers permissions.
For example, if I upload files to folder htdocs/somefolder/somefiles.something I would like the files that I have uploaded to "inherite" the permissions.
In this case, owner "www-data" and group somegroup.
Not possible?
Or do I have to change the permissions later on after uploading with chown manually?

It depends on how your server treats the permissions. But WinSCP does not instruct the server in any way, what the owner/group should be like. So if they are not inherited, then your server obviously does not do that.

You may be able to change ownership from WinSCP. See documentation.
