I'm glad to announce that new WinSCP icon is ready.
The final icon is based on Mossblaser B submission that received the most votes. Jonathan Heathcote (author of the submission) had modified the logo according to my preferences though, as I prefer his other submissions. I would like to thank Jonathan for his work a patience with me. Thanks also go to all other contributors. I also need to apologise for time it took me to announce results. I have not expected myself that it takes so long. If all goes well, new icon will be used since 4.2.2 release. Also see details about competition.
Edit: Orientation of the icon was changed so that part of it is not shadowed by Windows shortcut overlay. Last edited by prikryl on 12 Jun 2009 09:58; edited 1 time in total |

It looks great to me, although the arrows seem like they take up too much of the icon on the smallest size.

One request with the icon. Its nice and everything, but see the blue arrow, could it be extended so that the start is behind the padlock, rather than half way through the gap in the padlock, giving the impression that the arrow actually goes through the padlock? It would appear that that actually is the intent of the icon anyways.
Also, on the smallest version, is the padlock not going to be hidden by the shortcut icon overlay thing that MS places on shortcuts? Appart from that though, I must say that the new icon is pretty sweet. Andy |

With regards to the shortcut overlays, we had problems with those and hence the arrows got inverted in the final version. Luckily though, 16x16 icons don't feature the overlay and so the lock isn't hidden so this shouldn't be a problem. Edit: Thanks btw! |

It still doesn't have 256x256? That's disappointing... the 128x128 and 64x64 are useless as windows doesn't use them.
The 4.2.2 beta executable also lacks the 48x48 size. |
