Re: RAR archives created in WinSCP are too large

This is not really a WinSCP question. It's rather a rar question.
Anyway, are you aware that the command appends the files to the archive? So if the archive already exists, it accumulates.
If you want us to investigate further, please attach a full session log file showing the problem (using the latest version of WinSCP).

To generate the session log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. Submit the log with your post as an attachment. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you can mark the attachment as private.

RAR archives created in WinSCP are too large

Hi there

I used this custom command https://winscp.net/eng/docs/custom_commands#rar
on a folder containing .jpg files, that is, I wanted to rar it.
The size of the folder is less than 30 Mb.

However, all I got is a 546 Mb rar file.
Why such a large file instead of a +30Mb- rar archive?

TIA
