What is SSH Client?
An SSH client is a software which uses the secure shell protocol to connect to a remote computer. WinSCP supports two secure file transfer protocols based on SSH:
SFTP Client or SCP Client?
WinSCP integrades both! A default mode of operation is to use SFTP with a fallback to SCP. In fact WinSCP supports a variety of transfer protocols, so you can use the same tool for both secure and insecure file copying. Read more about the WinSCP supported protocols.
