I simply selected the "Upgrade" button to go from v 5.17.7 to 5.17.8 and I got this message. I had multiple WinSCP instances open at the time (opening a new instance while an existing one has a dialog open will open in a new window, instead of the current one), so perhaps it had trouble upgrading while the other windows were also open. Could that be related? Now each time I "check for updates" it gives me this error right away. I don't even have to click the Upgrade button. Here is a video of the experience:

Regarding my environment, not much is different or unique with my setup. My computer is only a few weeks old, so it's a pretty fresh install of 5.17.7, with no other file transfer clients installed. Should I try uninstalling and re-installing?
On a side note, I LOVE using your product and find it's the VERY BEST SCP client available!!! I use it for WebDAV and it works perfectly! Thank you so much for providing it for free to the world!!! I will donate soon, I promise!

I know how to reproduce the problem or the problem happens frequently enough. I wish to be contacted by the WinSCP team to help resolving the problem.
