This happened on a VM while "idle". I do not know anything other than the error message that popped up this morning when I connected to the VM.

WinSCP was idling over night in a remote session while the session was disconnected.
I don't know if the error is reproducible or not. The page made me select an option. It might happen every time the session is reconnected for some period of time, or might happen rarely indeed. On the other hand I cannot reproduce it by simply disconnection and reconnecting.

I usually connect to this computer via RDP. WinSCP was Connected to my web server (Debian 12.0 (Bookworm)). Left it connected, RDP was disconnected. Windows is set to suspend. Saw this error reporting box the next time I logged in via RDP.

The problem presented to me upon logging in (from hibernation). Hence It did not happen for a direct (human) interaction. As said, I'm not being able to reproduce it at the moment.

Error occurred after computer was awoken from hibernation. WinScp was logged in to 3 different sites at time, 1 was FTP the other two SFTP sites.
Before I hibernated however google chrome (2 separate sessions) had locked up and required shutdown (ALT +F4) to recover. After this and before hibernation everything seemed to be working

Running on a laptop, so WinSCP was running and connected. I put laptop to sleep, then when waking it the next day, WinSCP was trying to reconnect to the previous session. I am not sure how soon this happened after waking the laptop. I do this same procedure everyday (i.e. sleep/wake) and this does not happen often.

Problem: Sometimes when I leave WinScp running overnight after viewing few large files, and the next day my whole system gets slow , Winscp already in the state of unresponsiveness and navigation to other opened applications becomes difficult and draggy..

The only way to solve this is to kill winscp application and then suddenly RAM memory frees up and system takes a sigh of relief.
