The problem happens rarely. I cannot reproduce it.

Problem: Sometimes when I leave WinScp running overnight after viewing few large files, and the next day my whole system gets slow , Winscp already in the state of unresponsiveness and navigation to other opened applications becomes difficult and draggy..

The only way to solve this is to kill winscp application and then suddenly RAM memory frees up and system takes a sigh of relief.

This situation occurred on a computer with OS Win 10 (VDI). The session was left open from the night before and the computer that is accessed remotely was disconnected (No sign out). On re-accessing the computer, the next morning, WinSCP showed the error window.

Not sure. This is my second or third time of the error window being shown since the several weeks I'm using this great tool WinSCP. Normally, I just hibernate my computer while WinSCP being open with the same session for days or weeks. Maybe the wake up sometimes confuses it? Maybe in combination with network changes, i.e. VPN loss/reconnection?

Left window of WinSCP opened for some time. Few days even maybe.
There active sessions in the app. Also several instances(different windows) of the WinSCP started at the same time.

Happend during laptop waking from sleep, maybe in combination with host not reachable due to VPN not connected. I do this scenario a few times a day and this is the first time I see this error.
The error is not problematic for me, I just reconnected the session and it works as expected.

The problem happens rarely. I cannot reproduce it.

I'm sorry to say that I don't remember much of the sequence that preceded this error. All I can say for sure is that I had already finished a session, unplugged the ethernet cable (and therefore lost the network connection to the target device) and then closed the laptop, which I think puts it to sleep. Over an hour later, I opened the laptop to do some other work and noticed this error message. Personally, I'm not too worried about the error, and wouldn't have thought to report it except that the error message prompted me to do so. I plan to reboot my computer (which I'm overdue for anyway) and I don't really expect any future problems.

The problem happens rarely. I cannot reproduce it.

WinSCP, running on my Dell laptop, was open and connected to my target platform. I needed to transport my laptop to another location, so I simply minimized WinSCP and other open applications, closed the monitor, unplugged power adapter and other peripherals. Took laptop to new location, opened it, and used it under battery power. When done after a couple of hours, I returned to the original location, but waited until next day to reattach peripherals and power, then power up. When the laptop came up, the attached error message was being displayed. I acknowledged the error and re-opened the minimized WinSCP (it had not been shutdown the entire time ... just minimized). I reconnected WinSCP to the target, and it's all working as if no problem had ever occurred.

I was connected to an encrypted FTP session and I locked my screen and switch of my 4k TV with DPI scaling enabled, making Windows change display to my 1440p PC monitor without DPI scaling.
