Thanks for your mail, I have figured it out in the meantime.. I had a file called '.' in the directory, which is perfectly finw on a linux system, but winSCP could not have dealt with it.. after renaming that file, I could browse without any problem.

Ubuntu (VM) has an attached external drive (80 GB) (Partitioned from Windows D:) and while accessing this Ubuntu drive from windows through WINSCP the following error is coming. Note one more drive (42GB) of same kind is not causing issues.

That's yet another indication that there's something wrong with the file name (some invisible character, like a new-line, in the file name).

What happens if you move that one file away temporarily?

I'm not sure how a new line could have been inserted into the name - all files in that directory are created the exact same way with the exact same program so I find it weird that this happened.

I do have a new session log and have attached what ls -lrt has dumped into a text file (lsOutput.txt).

It actually looks like the invsnpsht.log has a new-line character in its name, what WinSCP cannot cope with. What does ls /u01/redprairie/wmssnd/les/log output in shell looks like?

Sorry for the delay, the network I was on yesterday was blocking the download.

I ran again today, same results but it took longer to process which I'm hoping is a good sign.

Same thing. I did notice that the error only happens in this "log" directory. It's also duplicating files on the screen - again only in this log directory.
