Re: WinSCP Editor Window goes to background unexpectedly

Thanks for your report.

Can you send me an email, so I can send you back a debug version of WinSCP to track the problem? Please include a link back to this topic in your email. Also note in this topic that you have sent the email. Thanks.

You will find my address (if you log in) in my forum profile.

Getting worst

Hi
The problem is getting worst.
I am unable to use Winscp and I have to kill it.
Unexpectedly, after some unmatching searches, a lot of hidden dialog box for Editor, asked me to save the open files, even if I did not clicked to save anything.
And, more difficult, I had only 2 files open, and after 6 consecutive "hidden behind other windows" modal requests to save these files, I was no more able to use WinScp: the 2 remaining windows (main and 1 editor) were unmovable, and every thing I did on them I got a beep, like if there was another unanswered modal window hidden elsewhere ... may be behind the untouchable 2 ones.
Using Alt-tab and win-tab I triple checked: no more other windows from WInScp existed, and I had to kill it (losing my work).

Unfortunatly I am not able to reproduce the issue.

WinSCP Editor Window goes to background unexpectedly

Environment: Winfamous 10 20H2 (and previous ones)
WinSCP Version: 5.17.9 and previous ones

The actual WINSCP file EDITOR window goes to background unexpectedly after an umatched search.
Unfortunately, it doesn't happens regularly.
Here is how to reproduce the problem (a lot of time this works):
1) have many application windows open on your desktop (not only winScp or it doesn't happen)
2) open a WinSCP editor windows (ie: double click on a file in winscp file list)
3) find a string repeatedly until the end of the file: the popup "Cannot find the string..." comes up: close it.
4) modify the search string (possibly type an unexisting one, so we will get again the "cannot find" popup).
5) click on Find Next
6) the actual editor window and its popup, both go to the background.

This is odd, and if I have a lot of winscp editor windows open, becomes difficult to find again the editor on which I was working on, and proceed with my workpath.

I am sorry I am not able to find an always-working way to reproduce the problem.

Thank you
