Win10 but I tested again today and it works!
I can't tell you what the problem was.

Checking for updates hang then shows Certificate not trusted

I use WinSCP only a few times a year and I had version 5.17.7 installed from last time and proceeded to check for updates but application hang there a while then shows an error about certificate not trusted. I thought it could be a problem with that version so I downloaded and installed 5.17.9 but same thing.

Since I don't see recent posts about this maybe it's on my end only? I know it was an issue in the past but should be fixed now, I think?

Maybe it's temporary? I'll try again in a few days...
