FTPS: Send NOOP instead of random commands

Could there be an option to send NOOP commands to keep the connection alive, instead of sending other commands? It's very confusing looking at my FTP server and seeing a bunch of TYPE I, TYPE A, PASV, REST 0, commands in there, as if the client is confused. However, if the client would send NOOP commands instead, it would be clear that the client is just keeping the connection alive (and the option on the server could even be enabled to exclude NOOP commands and their returns from the log).
