@mcdonamw: It's View in the Explorer interface, but Options in the default Commander interface. As the documentation says.

Regarding your problem: please post some screenshots.
Jey

I confirm, it's unfortunately not working well.

Not as FileZilla for example.

I know this is a necropost but I have a question regarding this. It's 2024 and I'm using the latest WinSCP. Two issues:

  1. the link you provide seems to link to old documentation. Many mentions of clicking "View" which does not exist.
  2. The feature that supposed to now exist does not seem to work for me. I have file list enabled, but it's only showing a single file transferring.

I wonder if for 2) the issue is I'm transferring an entire folder? Not a bunch of individual files? The transfer is listed as source: <path to folder>, destination: <destination folder\*.*, and then the next line is the current file transferring.

Can you record a screencast for the problem?
Jey

Yes. I tried with 1, ot 2 simultaneous jobs, the bottom window stay empty (commander version).

Did you select the transfer job whose details you want to show?
Jey

Ah, good news !

I just installed the Beta 5.18.3 RC
Now I have a new "window" at the bottom, but it's empty when I transfer many folders/files.

Did I something wrong?

Sorry, I mean, is it possible to transfer X files in the same time, on X slots ?
Edit : I found in OPTIONS, simultaneous transfers, so yes it's available.

Is-it possible to transfer files in //, on few slots, to have a better speed (like FTP, etc) ?

What do you mean by "transfer files in //"?
Jey

Unfortunately, it's still not available :'(

Transferring files with WinSCP is very frustrating, where FileZilla give more information, let managing the queue (pause, stop, change priority, see errors, etc).

Nothing new yet.
Jey

Please, did you begin to work on this feature?

You can look how FileZilla is managing the transfer (queue, error, succes, log), it's a good base.
Jey

Thank you.

Re: Full queue list

@martin: Another vote for showing files left in queue. This feature is important to be able to guesstimate time left in the queue.
At least in my case this is more than a minor convenience. I like WinSCP, but I'll be forced to revert to FileZilla until/unless it's implemented.

I definitely agree that the feature to be able to view the entire folder or bulk of files being uploaded/being able to expand the list of files/folders/subfolders being uploaded is needed.

Definitely missing a trick here, so much so that I'm now reverting back to Filezilla just because it's so much more user friendly in relation to the issue above.

Re: Full queue list

@martin: In WS_FTP or other FTP programs, mainly there is a "+" beside the uploaded folder or bulk of files to expand all the list of files/folders/subfolders being uploaded.. Which is very helpful, as one can pause a particular one in the files/folders waiting to be uploaded, or even delete it from the queue.. etc.

I don't know if I am missing an option to show all the list, or should this be submitted as a feature request?

It's indeed currently not possible to show all the queued files.
We will see, if more people ask for this.

Thanks, but I am talking about the Queue List that is always shown in the bottom the program, it just shows the files being transfered, and not the rest of the files waiting to be transferred in the same folder.

Hi Mike,

Does the queue you see look like this?

This is the foreground transfer queue. Although this window appears to show two uploads/downloads happening at once, it actually only shows the progress of a single file transfer + the overall progress of all transfers in the foreground transfer queue. This is the default queue for uploads and downloads and can only process one download or upload at once.

On the other hand, the background transfer queue places all pending transfers in their own pane at the bottom of the WinSCP window. All pending transfers in this queue are always visible. This queue can process one or multiple uploads/downloads at once, depending on the value you choose in Preferences.

It sounds to me like you're using the foreground transfer queue. There is no way, in either the background or foreground queue, to only show two transfers and hide the pending ones, but the foreground transfer queue can definitely give the appearance that that is what it's doing as it shows two progress bars!

https://winscp.net/eng/docs/transfer_queue

I recommend trying these settings. Personally, I prefer to allow large downloads to finish one at a time but you may wish to use a larger number.

Full queue list

When uploading or downloads say 20 files, what is shown in the queue list are only the first 2 (the ones being transferred), but it doesn't show the rest of the files, or how many files were uploaded or still not uploaded so far.

I don't know if I am missing an option to show all the list, or should this be submitted as a feature request?
