@Brian: The script log does not include any actual transfer. It just includes a failed attempt to start an upload of a non-existing file.

also in cmd mode I did the switches you suggested and its doing the same log attached

Martin one last try I switched to another server company files.com
the weird thing now is using the gui and trying to upload a file it now fails like in command mode bill.log attached

Sorry, I was not able to identify anything useful in the log.
Try reducing transfer speed using -speed switch. Or turn off connection optimization using -rawsettings SendBuf=0 in the open command.
Are you other servers also ancient OpenSSH 4.3 (from 2006)?

Thanks. Can you enable more verbose logging (Debug 2)? Also please post logs for the very same file in both scenarios.

Can you upload the file in WinSCP GUI? In any other SFTP client?

I can use the get command to download files in the dos command line, I can upload in the graphical interface with out problems. But when I try to use the put command in the command prompt, I keep getting this error:
network error: Software caused connection abort

Tried turning off my firewall still no luck, tried the put command in a few other SFTP sites and get the same. Could this be a bug? Any ideas?
