Re: Directory refresh - 1 bug and 1 related request

Can you please elaborate a bit on this part. It's not clear to me.
After the remote panel automatically refreshes via the "Refresh remote panel setting every ? secs" setting then the drag file also refreshes (regardless of Preference setting) after that point.

So I understand that you have "Refresh remote panel setting every ? secs" enabled, right? And do I understand that something goes wrong, when the refresh occurs, while you are dragging a file?

Re: Directory refresh - 1 bug and 1 related request

Thanks for following up. I'm using SFTP protocol with the latest version 5.21.1 on Windows 10.
There is definitely something buggy going on for me. On startup it always refreshes after dragging a file regardless of whether the Automatically Refresh checkbox is set or not. However if I open and view the preferences setting and view the checkbox for Refresh (can then click Cancel or OK) it does stop refreshing after that point.

I think I have found a clue though. After the remote panel automatically refreshes via the "Refresh remote panel setting every ? secs" setting then the drag file also refreshes (regardless of Preference setting) after that point. Maybe it is remotely triggered or something.

I wasn't aware of the right-hand column for dragging the file so that solves my problem for needing to scroll so will do that thanks.

I'm aware of the Ctrl+Alt+E shortcut for opening Explorer but even though I'm a touch typist, I still need to stop and look at the keyboard to do that shortcut so it is just as disruptive to my workflow as having to click multiple buttons to open Windows Explorer.

Not sure what Full Row Select is or does and was unable to find it in the settings.

Re: Directory refresh - 1 bug and 1 related request

For me disabling Automatically refresh directory after operation works as expected. The panel does not refresh, nor does it reset the scrolling position. What version of WinSCP are you using? What protocol? Where are you exactly dragging the files from and where exactly do you drop them to?

Also why do you have scroll anywhere to drop the files? Just do not drop them to the subfolder names. Or do you have Full row select enabled? If so, turn it off. And even with it enabled, you can still drop right of the rightmost column.

The Explore Directory command has keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+E.

Directory refresh - 1 bug and 1 related request

I regularly transfer files to a remote directory which has a large number of folders in it.

When I drag a file across, the remote directory automatically refreshes but as part of the refresh it scrolls to the top and now my remote window is full of folders from top to bottom.
If I try to drag a file as is, I'm dragging it onto one of the remote folders which I dont want.

So every time I drag a file across I have to manually scroll down again to get to my original file position in the remote window. I might have to scroll down 100 times a day depending on what I'm doing.

BUG?: I tried to disable the auto-refresh setting but this option does not appear to work, it always refreshes after dragging a file whether checked or unchecked:-

Preferences -> Panels -> Remote -> Automatically refresh directory after operation

FEATURE REQUEST: Allow the remote window to retain the same scroll position after refresh

Another minor annoyance: It would be really nice if I could open Windows explorer at the panel folder location with a single button click and not have to click multiple times due to other related options I never use.

Otherwise a great bit of software! Thanks for all your hard work.

thanks!
