So the editor opens – But it does not open the file?
Isn't the problem the square brackets in the file name? Does it work with more conventional file names?

Yes, I manually closed it, and the settings are in the screenshot above, where it's disabled.

Did you close the editor at 13:07:23? Or was the file deleted prematurely? Maybe you need to uncheck "External editor opens each file in separate window (process)":

Yes, it is in Wine, should that argument be supplied to WinSCP or VSCode?

Are you running WinSCP under Wine?
Post application log (use /applog=path command-line argument).

External editor doesnt open files.

I tried using /usr/bin/code for the external editor (I am on Arch linux).
It only opens Code, without actually opening the file itself.

Configuration is attached in the post as a screenshot.
