I have replicated both freezing issues using the debug version you have sent me and captured the details in trace log files. I have uploaded the latest 3 of 4 log files to this post privately.

                System is Windows Server 2016
Reinstall did not help, nor did upgrading/downgrading versions.
Version 5.21.7 was the first version ever used on this machine.
