Please, give an example - I am not quite sure why the selected file or dir becomes target. To make the things definite, please, advise what to write in the first filed and what - in the second, to make sure that, say, a symlink will be created from /var/log/ to /home/var/log/

Why? WinSCP can create the links itself.
