True, but I prefer it because it has my speed limit for data transfer configured, Total commander does not (for copying data from archives).

If you map remote folder as a local drive, you do not need to use WinSCP.

You can just add basic archives (.zip,.rar, ..) opening ability.

While remote storage is mounted as a local drive (with assigned letter), there is no difference for WinSCP, as it treats like local file.

It would be really handy.

We will see, if more people ask for this.

It's a huge task. And it can work only with protocols that allow reading parts of a files (like SFTP).

I think it would be useful to have ability to

  • open .zip, .rar files
  • navigate like folder
  • similar to the total commander
  • basic archive functionality
