Re: Inability to add or delete files on remote directory

The chown has -v (verbose) switch to make it display progress details.

Re: Inability to add or delete files on remote directory

I tried another SFTP client and it has the same issue. So I know it is not in WinSCP.

However, I have another quick question regarding the console window. I am now run chown on the external drive that I am having issues with to ensure that that is not an issue. It appears (?) to be running right now, but there is nothing indicating that it is. If this is a long process how do I know if it running, stalled, or finished?

Re: Inability to add or delete files on remote directory

No, have not yet tried another SFTP client, I will do this. I really don't know where to start. However, I have made no changes to my Linux/RPI setup that would make me consider it first. I did do an upgrade to the recent WinSCP application and that's why I focused on that.

Thanks for the suggestion though, I will look further into it.

Do you have a reason to believe this is WinSCP (and not generic Linux/RPI) problem?
Does any other SFTP client work, where WinSCP does not?

Inability to add or delete files on remote directory

This issue popped up all of a sudden and I cannot figure what the issue is. I get an error
Permission denied.
Error code: 3
Error message from server: Permission denied

I've reset and verified the permissions on the drive, folders, and files (all music files for a RPI4 music player). Now I can no longer upload or delete files or folders. I pulled the drive and on my Win 11 PC it works just fine. I have made no changes to the RPI OS and I have tried other versions of WinSCP to ensure it wasn't a recent upgrade. Nothing. If there is something I can provide to assist in fixing this issue, just let me know and I will do what I can.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
