Compare Files extension: please add Diffoniq to the tool list
Hello,
thank you for the Compare Files extension. I would like to ask whether you would add Diffoniq to its list of compare tools.
Diffoniq is a commercial file and folder comparison tool for Windows (diffoniq.com; it is the successor of WDiff32, which has been around since 1995). It takes the two paths as plain arguments, left first:
For detection: the installer registers HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Diffoniq.exe, whose default value is the full path to the executable. The default install folder is C:\Program Files\Diffoniq\. There is also a portable ZIP, which can live in any folder.
Until then, our users set it up as a custom command with "Use remote files" unchecked, which works well. The page we point them to is here:
https://diffoniq.com/guides/winscp-compare-with-server/
If it helps: Diffoniq also accepts --read-only for a view-only comparison, but the plain two-path call above is all the extension would need.
Thank you for considering it, and for WinSCP.
