So I have tried it. Unfortunately, the Community Edition misses some system header files. And the headers from my version of C++ Builder (11.2) do not seem to be compatible with the version 13 compiler (as the CE seems to be available for the latest version only).

Actually, it might be possible to build the latest version using the Community Edition. But I didn't try yet. I'll look into it.

I was wondering if there is a way around this proprietary software requirement?

Or at least not requiring to buy things

Like maybe using the CE version instead of Pro?

I need to know how to build the Winscp.exe from the source code in order to deploy it in my project. The readme files are either missing information on how to do this, or I'm not understanding them correctly. I don't want the setup.exe, just the Winscp.exe needed for the Winscpnet.dll to function properly.
