Sorry for late reply... After two years, I've finally upgraded my WinSCP and have installed the latest version now (4.1.9). With *. transferring files without extensions automatically in ASCII mode now works just great! Thanks! :D

Re: Transfer files without extensions in ASCII mode using Automatic transfer mode

Since the next release mask *. will select files without an extension (even without a dot).

Re: Transfer files without extensions in ASCII mode using Automatic transfer mode

I've just downloaded the latest version of WinSCP (3.8.2 build 330) and looked forward to see this feature working, but it still doesn't... :( Maybe you forgot it? I tried to use the include mask, but it didn't work either. A possible solution would be to allow regular expressions to be used as patterns in the mask feature. Then something like [^\.]* would fit.

Anyhow, thanks for all good work! / Mårten

I do not understand why it does not with with *., but you are right, it does not. I'll try to fix it in the next release.

Transfer files without extensions in ASCII mode using Automatic transfer mode

Hello,

I can't find it possible to transfer files without extensions in ASCII mode using automatic transfer mode. Is it possible to include such a feature in next release - or is there a way to do this in the latest release?

I have a lot of unix files which have no file extensions. I.e. a dir command could give this list:
~/misc$ ls

bgtest                    bgtestdata.txt                redbox.gif

With automatic transfer mode, I want the unix script bgtest and the text file bgtestdata.txt to be transferred as ASCII; and the file redbox.gif to be transferred as binary.
