If you use binary mode, WinSCP does not change the file content in any way.

Change in Data Format
Hi,
The Server is Unix and the client is windows.When I download the file to the client and open it in notepad,Square boxes appear at the begining of the file and and the line looks shifted to the right by few spaces. I have tried all options for setting environment, and also transfer mode. I'm using version 3.8 and SFTP protocol
