Empty directory doesn't display in remote

When I upload an empty directory it doesn't display in the remote view pane. I recreated this several times, then tested by putting a .txt file inside the directory. When not empty, the directory shows with no problem.

WinSCP version: 4.0.4 (build 346)
Transfer Type: FTP
Client OS: Windows XP, SP2

FTP Server: Pure-ftpd
Server OS: CentOS 4.5
