I'm having exactly the same problem, only in my case I get:

Permission denied.
Error code: 3
Error message from server: Permission denied
Request code: 14

and in another map I get

General failure (server should provide error description).
Error code: 4
Error message from server: Failure
Request code: 14

I'm running two different sites, all with WinSCP, and I never had any problems with both my websites. On my main website, I never had any problems uploading any files, but now I get those errors, but on the other site I don't have these problems.. I'm the site administrator, so I shouldn't have any problems uploading anything. Thanks in advance.

So what are your permissions on the files?

while trying to copy files from mysite to web_docs i receive error message 3:

it will not allow me to copy the information into webdocs or delete the existing information from webdocs, how can i fix this?
