Re: Telnet Bug and SSH RE-Authentication BUg

But it doesn't work that way. I have a password in the password field and its stored. It is however working the way I said from my last reply to you. Don't know what to say anymore but at least it works :P

I believe that this is nonsense. TIC/Cryptocard works only with SSH1, you use SSH2. And even if it works, the effect would be just opposite, another prompt would be displayed.

I have tried to start authentication agains your server with username 'imunity'. With the default settings I'm prompted for password via keyboard-interactive authentication. The prompt has title "Server prompt" and states "This prompt is issued by the server. It is part of either keyboard-interactive, TIS or Cryptocard authentication". In this case the stored password cannot be used (even if I know it :-)).
For the second attempt I have turned off 'Attempt 'keyboard-interactive' authentication'. Now I'm prompted for normal session password. In such case stored password would be used.

Can anyone figure out my passwors from my log I posted if so can you delete that for me?

The password is never stored to the log.

Re: Telnet Bug and SSH RE-Authentication BUg

Wow, this did work though:

Uncheck as you said but for this to work correctly I had to check "Attempt TIS or Cryptocard Authentication SSH1"

THat fixed all the shells that were prompting for Re-Authentication!!!

PERFECT!!

THanks all is good now :P

PS

Can anyone figure out my passwors from my log I posted if so can you delete that for me?

THanks so much for you help your program is the best I have ever tried or have ever seen anywhere antime :P

. Server prompt (Password:)

This tells that normal password-authentication does not take place. Instead the servers issues generic prompt for something (the password here). Since WinsCP 3.4, the prompt dialog should state something like 'This prompt is issued by the server. It is part of either keyboard-interactive, TIS or Cryptocard authentication'

Is such case WinSCP cannot use stored password (apart from normal password authentication), because the server may ask generally for anything. And WinSCP does not know for what it is asking for actually.

If your server does not require this kind of authentication, you may turn off WinSCP attempt for it by unchecking "Attempt 'keyboard-interactive' authentication (SSH2)" on Authentication tab of Login dialog.

Its still asking for a password. session password :(

Why does it work ok in Secure CRT and not in WINscp? THats the part I don't understand?

I did that. It is still prompting me for a password on two of my shells. Oxygenshell and Satexas Shells.

Please post a log file.

OK here it is: Oxygenshell and B2.shells. Oxygenshell is promtping me for a passward everytime ass well as Satexas Shells and JEah shells. Acmeshells, B2.Shell and TAKIWEB shells do not prompt me for a password every time I login.

I only inlcluded the Oxygenshell and B2 shell login and session log.

Please post a log file.

Enter your password on login dialog along with all other login data and click "save".

Sounds like a bug to me.

I do not understand. You should be asked to authenticate with every connection, unless you save your password to stored session.

It looks like Port 23 or Telnet is not working at all.
I cannot connect to my shells using WINSCP but I can connect using Secure-CRT.

WinSCP supports only SSH protocol, not Telnet.

Tell me how to set the WINSCP to save the password for SSH protocol.

thanks

Telnet Bug and SSH RE-Authentication BUg

Version 3.4.2

Some of my SSH shells work fine. I authenticate the first time I connect then I do not have to re-Authenticate again.

Some of my other shells keep askingme to Authenticate with every connection.

THis is not a problem with the shell provder because I can connect to every single one of the shells without having to re-authenticate in Secure-CRT client.

It looks like Port 23 or Telnet is not working at all.
I cannot connect to my shells using WINSCP but I can connect using Secure-CRT.

Also another problem. It is very slow process for it to connect and open the session. Almost 30 seconds. That to me seems a bit too long.

Is that also a bug in WInSCP version 3.4.2.?
