sorry.......... I found it
I was logging in winSCP with InSecure ftp....... hence.
So save your manual session in PuTTY and go to registry, where PuTTY saves its sessions and inspect the differences. Let me know.
hello there and thank you very much for your kind help.
I did what you said ..... and on loading winscp temporary session this way, the black window of putty closed with this pop up dialog box : connection closed by remote host
when I connect manually to this same website by mnaually connecting through putty and typing manually the username and password, there is no problem ........
Try it again. What start PuTTY on your own, go to "WinSCP temporary session" in Putty's session list, load it, select "close window on exit > never", open the session. See if it works or not. If not, go to putty event log and post what you see there.
am using windows xp home, FR,
WinSCP 4.1.9 build 416
Putty release 0.60
Hello.
I have set up winscp to automatically open a putty session on connection.
This worked for many months.
Now recently, what would happen is that the putty black window would open .......... and then it closes by itself.
I do still have SSH access to my site and I can connect to it if I manually open putty and manually enter my username and password.....
the issue is elsewhere......
can anybody help ?
I have tried re-installing putty.... did not work.
