Problem with sorting

I am running WinSC 4.2.7 (Build 758) on Windows XP SP3.
Connecting to an AIX system with SFTP (SSH-2). Using the GUI system in Commander interface mode. Problem persists if I connect using FTP with no encryption.
The problem is this: when I look at remote system's list of files (i.e. the right-hand window), and click on the column headings (like "Owner"), the files do not list in any semblance of order. I can supply a screen shot that demonstrates this. This persists even when I click repeatedly on the heading, logout and back in, etc.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
