I have noticed that you are not able to log on to a server if the password contains letters other than

The protocol used is FTP, but as I haven't tried on other protocols I don't know if other protocols are affected.
I have tried to log in on the server in this case with another ftp-client, without failing to log in.

å (only tested with lowercase å) is passed faulty, and thereby the login attempt fails.
