Transfer from web to local shared drive freezes app

I use my desktop PC to run WinSCP. I am trying to take files from my online webserver and transfer them to a local shared drive (shared drive is hosted locally on a Win Server 2008 machine).

When I click and drag the file I want to transfer, WinSCP freezes for about 3-5 minutes, and then the file shows up where I wanted it to go.

What is causing this freeze up and delay? It is unworkable, and doesn't happen on Server 2003 machines, just the Server 2008 machine.
