Why? You do not need to use it on any sensitive files. Just use it on any test file.

Sorry, I don't want to download the debug version but note:
Does not occur in 4.3.7.
To recreate:
On an SFTP connection.
Right click an existing file and choose edit.
Edit the file.
Ctrl + S to save.
The file is now slightly corrupted some of the time.

WINSCP's file editor occasionally corrupts files. If i open the corrupted files in another editor ( Notepad ++) the document has several "NUL" throughout. If i delete them and reupload they work fine.
what version of WinSCP are you using? What protocol?
Can you send me an email, so I can send you back a debug version of WinSCP to track the problem? Please include link back to this topic in your email. Also note in this topic that you have sent the email. Thanks.

Editor corrupts files in 5.0.6
The text editor is inserting some bad characters or removing tabs because it messes up my source files to the point they won't run. It used to work fine.
