No, there's no such control.
What problems are you having with XML logging?

Log files

Hello. I guess there's no way to control log size or # of logs generated with the /log param (I know we're supposed to be using XML logging but haven't had much success with it). With a large synchronize the log file can get a bit unwieldy.
