Unable to change my web page

I am using windows 7-64 transfer Protocol FTP.
My problem is I made changes ie deleted folders, and I drag and dropped the folders I wanted for the ones I deleted. My remote folders did not change. I know if I change a file I save it but I do not see a save when I delete folders. Is there a proper way to delete folders :?:
